Modern conveniences may save us time and make our lives easier, but we still tend to get so busy that we have no time to spend with our loved ones. It is, however, important that once in a while we find ways to enjoy time relaxing with family and friends. Here are seven quality time ideas to help you spend more time with good friends in ways that are fun and help you to reconnect with each other.

1. Healthy eating

The best snack you can have in a day is good fruit. Cooking dinner for your family or simply preparing a delicious meal for yourself engages both the mind and the body. Do yourself a favor by practicing conscious eating and taking healthy food. This will save you the stress of having to work on weight gain or weight loss later in life. You can also enjoy dinner with girlfriends, unwinding with good food and drinks. 

2. Quality conversation with family and close friends

Communication helps strengthen bonds between friends and family. You can hold quality conversations in person, via phone calls, or virtual calls. A burst of good laughter works almost like an apple a day would in keeping the doctor away. Share your thoughts, ideas, and worries with someone you trust and you’ll realize that you’ll feel more relaxed, even after a brief chat. 

3. Hit the road

Car rides, long drives to nowhere, and listening to RnB songs could be just what you need to unload and move on with life. You can also cycle, go bike riding, or simply embark on long a road trip with friends. Viewing the roadside scenery and listening to your favorite music helps you put the world behind you.

4. Watching films

Stretch out on your sofa and watch a good movie or go out on a movie night with friends. YouTube and Netflix have loads of goodies that you can use to pass time, and you need not worry since everyone’s taste is fully catered for! 

5. Dancing

Dancing not only helps you to improve coordination, but it also relaxes the mind and body. Whether you are dancing for entertainment or as a form of exercise, there are several moves to suit different body sizes and needs, making it suitable to engage with friends and family.

6. Horse riding

You can ride on your own or with friends. Horse racing is not only an engaging exercise, but it’s also fun and comes with a sense of pride. If you feel there’s too much energy bottled up your chest, take your horse out and release that energy. You will feel much better afterward.

7. ASMR videos

ASMR (autonomous sensory and meridian response) videos have that relaxing and sedative sensation commonly known as brain massage. If you’ve never watched ASMR videos before, this could be your time to try something different.

8. Playing a musical instrument

 Are you gifted in musical instruments? Whether it’s a piano, a flute, a guitar, a violin, or whichever instrument you enjoy playing, take some time and embrace the melody with your friends and family. You can as well take time to learn how to play a musical instrument of your choice or engage in any other creative activity such as painting. 

9. Spa date with pampering

Spa date with pampering is not something you would want to miss. Go out with your girlfriends and get your massage, manicure, and pedicure among other things that you’d opt for. 

10. Go an extra mile

Burn some palo santo to add positivity, some sage to remove negativity and incense while journaling or reading. Anything that calms your nerves and makes you feel stronger is worth trying. A positive mind is what you need to take care of yourself.

These quality time ideas will give you a chance to invest in your time together as a family and friends. By doing so, you will have built a foundation of meaningful moments and memories that will keep you connected to your loved one.
